Privacy policy

As of October 2026. The RemoPad apps do not collect personal data for us: there are no servers, no account, no analytics and no advertising.

Translation for convenience; the German privacy policy is authoritative.

1. Scope

This policy covers this website, the RemoPad apps for iPhone and Apple Watch, and the RemoPad receiver for Mac. RemoPad uses iPhone or Apple Watch via Bluetooth as an input device for a Mac. It does not cover processing by Apple as store and platform operator or linked external sites.

2. Controller and contact

Controller within the meaning of Art. 4(7) GDPR:
Gerry Bittner
Am alten Gutshof 2a
24220 Boksee
Germany
Email: info@habitfit.de
Phone: +49 4302 8190754

No data protection officer has been appointed because the requirements of Art. 37 GDPR and § 38 BDSG are not met.

3. Data in the apps

On your devices only. The apps make no internet connection to us or third parties. Stored locally are settings (for example pointer and scroll speed, scroll direction, haptics) and, for pairing, a device key and the approvals of paired devices with their display names and public keys in the keychain. This data is exchanged only between your own devices over an encrypted Bluetooth connection. We never receive it.

Input on the Mac. The Mac receiver performs the transmitted pointer, click, scroll and key commands using the Accessibility permission you grant. It does not read screen content and does not store input.

Optional diagnostics. Off by default. When enabled, the app keeps limited event data (event types, relative times, opaque local identifiers) in memory. An export exists only if you create and share it yourself; only then does the recipient you choose receive the file.

You can delete all app data by removing approvals in the app or deleting the app.

4. Purchases through Apple

RemoPad Pro is a one-time in-app purchase. Apple handles purchase, payment and receipt through the App Store under its own responsibility; we receive no payment data and run no purchase server. The app checks purchase status locally through Apple's StoreKit. Apple's privacy policy applies.

5. Website and hosting

What is processed. When you visit, your browser transmits technically necessary connection data: IP address, date and time, requested address, HTTP status code, amount of data transferred, referrer and browser and operating system details.

Purpose and legal basis. Delivery, stability and security of the website and defence against attacks; Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Recipient. The website is delivered via Cloudflare Pages (Cloudflare, Inc.). Cloudflare processes connection data as a processor under Art. 28 GDPR and provides protection against network attacks. The data is kept only briefly for operation and security; we create no usage profiles.

No cookies, no tracking. The website sets no cookies, loads no third-party content, uses no analytics or advertising technology and has no forms.

Mac download. The Mac receiver is served from this same website on Cloudflare; downloading involves only the connection data described above.

6. Contact and support by email

What is processed. Your message with subject, text, sender address, technical headers and any attachments you add, such as a diagnostics export you created.

Purpose and legal basis. Handling your request and analysing errors; Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where the request concerns your use of RemoPad, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Recipients. The mailbox info@habitfit.de is handled by Gerry Bittner personally; it is operated by IONOS SE, Montabaur (Germany), as processor. Support content is not used for advertising or to train AI models.

Retention. Support messages are deleted 12 months after the request is closed unless a statutory retention obligation applies.

7. Transfers to third countries

With Cloudflare, access from third countries, in particular the USA, cannot be ruled out. Transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework adequacy decision under Art. 45 GDPR where the provider is certified, otherwise on standard contractual clauses under Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR. A copy of the safeguards is available on request at info@habitfit.de.

8. Your rights and right to complain

You have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21). An informal message to info@habitfit.de or the postal address is enough.

You can lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). Responsible for us is the Unabhängiges Landeszentrum für Datenschutz Schleswig-Holstein (ULD), Holstenstraße 98, 24103 Kiel, Germany, phone +49 431 988-1200, email mail@datenschutzzentrum.de.

9. Changes

We update this policy when RemoPad or the services used change. The version published here applies.
